About Me

My photo
Middle Tennessee, United States
I was raised in a very close, Christian based middle-class family in a Southern city suburb. I have been married 34 years. I have 2 grown sons, a beautiful granddaughter, and 1 older sister. Our home right now is also home to 3 dogs, 3 cats, and 2 pet chickens! I love music, outdoors, pets, wildlife, and new adventures. I love all of nature and God's many creations and can't imagine a life without a love of God and family, wildlife and the outdoors.

I love nothing more than to go out in the world and document what I see, the way I see it. Time I spend walking in a woods or along an overlook or floating on a lake or river is often the backdrop for my pictures. If not in the wilderness, then I also like to visit places of historical or architectural interest. Many of my photos will be nothing more than quick clicks just around the house.
I would love to have you visit - come view my photos. Feel free to comment, tell me what you like or don't like, and most of all just enjoy your time here.

Thanksgiving, I'm thankful for....

Thanksgiving morning I decided to go for about a 2 hour hike before the busy activities of the day. Being able to hike on such a beautiful morning and any morning is one thing I'm thankful this Thanksgiving Day.

What did I find by the side of my car at the trailhead? I'd say this was a pretty fitting way to start my hike!

The deer were very active and I saw small groups of 3 or 4 around every turn.

Better Things to do than Black Friday Shopping!

While the crowds were stressing over getting the great advertised deals, I was enjoying the beauty and serenity of the woods. I will always prefer this beautiful way to spend Black Friday than saving a few dollars at the mall.

Stones River Battlefield - In Search of Deer

I again visited Stones River Battlefield to see if I could again spot some deer and/or other wildlife. I was in luck until the hikers and dog-walkers began to arrive at the park.

Stones River Battlefield Revisited

An early morning of clear skies and crisp temperatures led me again to the "Battlefield" to see what wildlife I might encounter. If I was a hunter, I'd have a nice buck but he was too quick for the camera with too much underbrush for a camera to "shoot" through. I did manage to startle him into running and he ran right through the field next to the Visitor Center where the on-duty park ranger had a better "shot" with his camera and managed a nice picture of him bounding through the field. He posted the picture on the Stones River Battlefield's Facebook page. Hey that was supposed to be MY shot!
I did manage to get some pictures of some other things of nature, including some pictures of a much less timid doe. Hope you enjoy!

THE END!
